'Mobile Legends': Bang Bang holds the first Southeast Asia cup

Mobile Legends: #Bang Bang is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed and published by Moonton. Its initial release on Android was in July 2016 and on iOS in November 2016. It has over 50 million installs.The game is designed for mobile phones with 2 opposing teams on opposite sides of the map. Each team is composed of 5 members controlling the hero of their choice. There are different types of heroes with different skill sets. For a balanced team, it is recommended to use a tank, support, marksman, mage, assassin, and fighter hero together for greater chances of winning. The goal is to destroy the enemy base through teamwork and strategy.

Each hero kill amounts to 1 point in the game. However, victory will go to the team who destroyed the enemy base regardless of the number of points accumulated per game.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will hold its first ever '5 Nations Invitational Cup'. Five countries namely Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, will participate in the event and fight for the number one spot. There are two stages in the cup the first is the qualifying tournaments. After registration, the chosen squads will fight each other in the qualifying tournaments to be qualified in the main event. Two representatives from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia and one representative each from Thailand and Singapore will be chosen from the winners of the Group stage and Elite 8-knockout tournament.

There will be a total of 8 representatives who will vie for the championship. These 8 representatives from the country will fight in a knockout round and the last squad standing wins the championship.

Among the 8 squads who will be qualified for the main event, one winner will take a cash price prepared by the developers. 'Mobile Legends' will also host a most popular squad voting event. This event will recognize the squad with the most votes from its players. The players will have the chance to vote for their favorite squad. The winner will be rewarded with the popularity award. However, the rewards are not exclusive to the participants of the Mobile legends Southeast Asia Cup but also among the players who follow the said eSports tournament. ‘League of Legends’ creator sues ‘Mobile Legends’ developer for copyright infringement

Shanghai Moonton Technology’s “Mobile Legends” has certainly been quite a hit for Pinoy mobile gamers. But for PC gamers familiar with the massive multiplayer title “League of Legends” (LoL), both games look eerily and disturbingly similar. According to a lawsuit recently filed in the Central District Court of California, Riot Games is suing the mobile game developer for allegedly copying the interface and overall game play of LoL. The game titles in question are Moonton’s “Mobile Legends: 5V5 MOBA”, “Mobile Legends: Bang Bang” and “Magic Rush: Heroes”, Dotaesports.com reported.
